MRI Evaluation of Cartilage - Presentation

dGEMRIC (delayed Gadolinium Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Cartilage) is an innovative technique that detects early cartilage breakdown at the microscopic level.  Molecules known as glycosaminoglycans ("GAGs") are depleted in early osteoarthritis, however GAG loss is potentially a reversible event and therefore early detection of GAG loss with dGEMRIC evaluation may enable early institution of medical treatment.
