Obtaining her graduate diploma in medical ultrasound in 1995 (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology - RMIT), Julie has for the last 7 years taken a special interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound. She also has a strong interest in female pelvic ultrasound.

Julie obtained a doctorate of philosophy at Monash University in the department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences in December 2007. Her research topic was titled Plantar plate of the lesser metatarsophalangeal joints: Sonographic evaluation and correlation with MRI, histology and direct inspection. As part of her thesis, five papers were published in the American Journal of Radiology, European Radiology, Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy, Foot & Ankle Surgery and Australasian Radiology. Julie was invited to write a chapter ‘MR imaging and ultrasound of metatarsalgia’ in Clinics of North America, which was published in 2008.

Julie has also presented a number of related papers at the United Kingdom Radiologic Conference (2003), Australasian Society of Ultrasound in Medicine National Conference (2003 & 2005), Australian Sonographer’s Association National Conference (2004) and numerous ultrasound workshops.

Practice Manager

In a career spanning 25 years, Brigitte has developed a great deal of experience in Medical Management. She trained as a registered nurse and worked for 10 years at the Austin Hospital in surgical outpatients clinics, working predominately with orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons.

Brigitte then branched out into Practice Management and has since not looked back. She brings with her a wealth of experience to Melbourne Radiology Clinic. Brigitte also completed an accreditation course with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in her previous position as a practice manager at a successful surgical practice in Melbourne. She has organised multiple talks and is dedicated to providing education for General Practitioners and other health care providers. Brigitte is very patient focused and has put together a comprehensive patient education information policy that aims to reduce patient anxiety regarding their health and radiological tests. Her total commitment and focus in providing excellent quality care for patients is demonstrated in her work ethic and focus on efficiency. She has developed an excellent rapport with her peers and is respected in the medical industry for her dedication and hard work.
